Rhythmically energized surfaces became more controlled, the lineal spacing tighter, color relationships more intense and often of opposing, vibrating wavelength. In 1964, Stanczak had his first, pivotal exhibition in New York, Titled "Julian Stanczak Opical Paintings" the exhibition lead to the name of the new movement: OP Art.
